Jentezen Franklin and Fasting: The two seem to go hand-in-hand these days. Whenever I hear anything on fasting, I automatically think of Jentezen.
I read one of Jentezen’s books on fasting several years ago. I remember being very excited about the benefits of fasting. I fasted several times, but had a hard time making it more than 3 days.
I’ve heard Jentezen speak about his church fasting the 1st of the year to commit the year to the Lord.
The church I attended would fast 21 days leading up to Easter. Many people would fast 1 meal a day or give up a pleasure they loved. Some would fast much longer. The Lord’s presence always seemed so near during those times of fasting.
Jentezen’s new book is called The Fasting Edge. It’s description says, “We all go through times when we feel like we are not living up to our full potential – like we’ve lost our edge.”
This new book sheds light on this powerful spiritual practice that Jesus demonstrated for all believers to follow. You CAN live to your fullest potential when you regain your spiritual edge.
I believe the Bible says, “Some things only come by prayer and fasting.” In my walk with the Lord, I have fasted to be healed. I have fasted to see financial breakthrough. I have fasted for direction and sometimes for obedience.
Jesus has healed me, he has blessed us financially, and has given us clear direction. Fasting for me has not been easy, but God has been faithful.
